Jacques Chirac vs. Google

This article is so ridiculous, it's hard to even believe it's true. Chirac claims the European Union is going to develop a search engine to rival Google!

While they have absolutely nothing working yet, they've made excellent progress by choosing a name, Quaero, that's ambiguously pronounceable, ambiguously spelled, and what do you know, the domain name is already owned by a company based in Charlotte, NC, USA.

Without a chance in hell of going head-to-head with Google, a European search engine could actually have an advantage in some areas. We can expect European engineers to finely tune the search engine for searches about bottled water, government employment, mad cow disease, pay toilets, and itty bitty diesel cars.

Will this search engine also be limited to working no more than 30 hours a week?
